The Tui Cabin

Enjoy the scenic views from Mount Taranaki in your own one bedroom private cabin.

The cabin has its own balcony with a private stone bath to relax in after exploring the mountain trails or city sights.

From the cabin you have views to the sea, and are only a 700m walk from the start of the Pouakai walking track. You are also only a 15min drive drive to New Plymouth beaches, restaurants, shops, the coastal walkway, Lake Mangamahoe Mountain Bike Park and everything else our great little city has to offer.

The cabin offers mountain and ocean views from both the kitchen (kitchenette in Tui) and bedroom, plus a spacious deck to enjoy the scenery. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen in Ruru and kitchenette in Tui, a Weber BBQ at both, and all the basics like tea, coffee, and milk. Inside, you’ll find a cosy lounge with a 32-inch TV in Tui and 50-inch TV in Ruru, Netflix, Disney+, and a comfy couch in each. Perfect for a peaceful getaway with everything you need close by.

  • Our cabin is packed with everything you need for a great stay. You’ll enjoy stunning views from your private balcony, a relaxing stone bath, and a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle. We also provide basics like milk, tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt, and pepper. Plus, there’s a comfy lounge area with a 32-inch TV, Netflix, Disney+, and a fold-out couch for extra guests.

  • The cabin is just a short 700m walk to the start of the Pouakai walking track and only a 15-minute drive to New Plymouth’s beaches, restaurants, shops, and the coastal walkway. Lake Mangamahoe Mountain Bike Park and other city highlights are also within easy reach.

  • Check-in is typically from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. If you need different times, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • If you cancel more than 14 days before your arrival, you’ll get a full refund. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before arrival will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Unfortunately, no refunds are given for cancellations within 7 days of arrival or for no-shows. We recommend travel insurance for added peace of mind.

  • Sorry, we don’t allow pets in the cabin. We want to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for all our guests.

  • The cabin includes a range of amenities like free Wi-Fi, a gas BBQ, outdoor furniture, books, magazines, and a garden. You’ll also find laundry service, luggage storage, and on-site parking.

  • Yes, the cabin is great for families or small groups. It has a fold-out couch in the lounge area for extra guests and plenty of space to relax and enjoy.

  • The cabin is a non-smoking property. We ask all guests to respect this policy to keep the space fresh and pleasant for everyone.

  • The cabin is equipped with a 32-inch Smart TV and access to Netflix and Disney+. You can relax and enjoy your favourite shows or movies during your stay.

  • Yes, we do offer the option to host intimate weddings at Mangorei Heights. With our stunning views and beautiful setting, it’s a perfect spot for a memorable celebration. Contact us for more details and to discuss how we can make your special day extraordinary.
